Massage Therapy

The Timeless Miracle

While the typical introduction to massage is motivated by a stressful or painful condition, regular massage can greatly benefit your overall health and well-being. Massage:

  • alleviates stress
  • aids digestion
  • improves circulation
  • relieves tight or sore muscles
  • aids detoxification
  • improves range of motion
  • and much more!

The most obvious benefit is that massage makes you feel great. With as many as five million touch receptors in your skin relaying messages on to your brain, the sense of touch is the first sense we develop. A simple touch can lower blood pressure, reduce the heart rate and signal the brain to produce endorphins, the body's natural pain suppressors.

Massage can restore suppleness and strength to muscles, reduce body toxins and improve circulation. It encourages a better exchange of nutrients at the cellular level and more thorough detoxification. This aids in cell regeneration, and is a critical part of remaining healthy.

How often to have massage done?

While a weekly massage may seem like an indulgence, new research suggests it can have major health benefits. Even a monthly massage will show noticeable physical benefits. Frequency is also determined by the results you are striving for. Many medical conditions can be directly treated through massage, including:

  • allergies and sinusitis
  • stress, anxiety, insomnia and depression
  • arthritis and reduced range of motion
  • asthma and bronchitis
  • chronic and temporary pain
  • circulatory problems
  • digestive disorders
  • carpel tunnel syndrome
  • sports injuries
